The Unterallgäu offers the perfect conditions for hikers, cyclists and riders. The various quiet little streets, the Iller cycle path, the Kneipp cycling and hiking route and plenty of other well-signposted trails for cyclists and walkers (including many that start from the hotel) make it easy for you to relax and unwind away from the cares of everyday life. Allgäuer Volkssternwarte (Allgäu public observatory) in Ottobeuren
Here you will have the chance to gaze up into the starry night sky, in an observatory which boasts a 30-60 centimeter telescope with a focal length of 7200 millimeters. You can enjoy a leisurely sightseeing tour through the universe and learn about our solar system, spiral nebulae and galaxies. Open every Friday from 7.30 pm.

Basilica
The absolute highlight of Ottobeuren is the baroque basilica, an impressive building soaring up into the heavens, once the imperial abbey of Ottobeuren. The magnificent architecture, the wonderful display of baroque colors and styles, the sound of the organ and a wealth of priceless works of art unite here to create an overwhelming impression. An art collection from the Bavarian State Gallery is on display in the Benedictine abbey, as well as furnishings and instruments from the abbey's former apothecary. Among the features not to be missed are the baroque library, which contains more than 15,000 printed works, as well as the auditorium and the spacious Kaisersaal (imperial hall), which is also used for concerts.

Neuschwanstein Castle
The world-famous Neuschwanstein Castle is just a 45 minute drive away from Ottobeuren. Visit the "Königswinkel" ("King's Corner") with its wealth of majestic palaces and castles! (Hohenschwangau, Linderhof, Falkenstein...)

Concerts in the basilica
The soothing and awe-inspiring tones of the various musical masterpieces performed here and the magnificent baroque interior of the Kaisersaal and the basilica blend together in Ottobeuren to create a magical atmosphere. Splendid concerts have been held here for more than 50 years, featuring internationally renowned conductors such as Karajan, Bernstein and many more. An enthusiastic audience comes and listens to the basilica's organ concerts every Saturday from February to November. The Riepp organs are renowned for their excellent sound and are regarded as an exceptional example of the art of organ construction.
